Nyle Farrell Success Story

From dreams to goals, from goals to victories. The inspiring story of poker player Niall Farrell

From a simple pocket gadget salesman to one of the world’s most popular poker players, Nyle Farrell’s story is inspiring. With millions of dollars to his name, competing in online and offline tournaments and travelling all over the world, it was more than he could have dreamt of a decade ago.

Online on the road to success

Nyle Farrell’s passion for poker came when he was a student. He trained as a lawyer and worked part-time in an electronics shop. Watching Poker After Dark impressed him so much that the guy decided to give it a try. He didn’t have enough money, but he found $1,000 for his first deposit.

This is how Nyle was introduced to online poker. He was able to earn $500 in the first month and proudly called himself a professional player. Today, the thought of it makes him smile sceptically.

His first memories of this occupation are associated with numerous failures on relatively simple games with a bet of $ 5. However, it allowed him to gain experience and Nyle began to smile at fortune. In 2014, he became the leader in the FTOPS Main Event, beating more than 1,500 poker players to win 2.7 million online.

Going offline

Farrell already had plenty of online competition wins when he decided to take on a real-life tournament. As he himself claims, “for fun”. It was Turbo II, running in season 1 of UKIPT, which brought the man $820. After that, Niall began to be recognised in the championships. It also allowed him to make friends with other stars of the sport.

Farrell’s first impressive win in the offline championships came in 2013. Second place in the series earned him $366,815. Staying just one step away from the most coveted prize only fuelled the poker player’s excitement. And in 2015, he won the EPT12 Malta Main Event. That’s how he made it to the big leagues of poker.

Soon after, he was second again in a major league tournament. It can be frustrating to finish second and still be one step away from the top prize. But he consoles himself with the fact that there will be another tournament next year.

In November 2016 Niall Farrell won the World Poker Tour Caribbean $4,560 Main Event, having made it to the WPT and EPT. However, second place in the WSOP is a shame, because if it wasn’t for that, Nyle would have won the Triple Crown. That’s a lead in three of poker’s most prestigious series. Only five people have “put it on his head” so far.

Rising star

Niall Farrell is second on the list of the country’s most successful poker players. He is ahead of David Wemplew. So among Nyle’s goals is to get ahead of his rival. However, he admits he is a strong player, which means victory is unlikely to come easily.

The rising poker star is planning to participate more actively in international competitions. In 2016, Farrell took part in the poker championships held in Australia. Now the dream is to go to Japan and South Korea.
